Grant brings over 30 years of experience specialising in construction and infrastructure projects. He is known for leveraging his expertise to deliver valuable, innovative and tailored advice to clients and their complex problems.
Grant has extensive experience providing contractual, project administration and advisory services to public and private sector clients on major construction and infrastructure projects. He is known for applying his detailed understanding of the intricacies of infrastructure assets to mitigate the risks involved. He has also advised on many public-private partnership (PPP) projects both in the United Kingdom and Australia.
Grant has worked extensively on environmentally sustainable and alternative delivery of utility services. He has advised on a broad range of emissions reduction and reporting matters and projects, including those involving the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), the Carbon Farming Initiative and the Emissions Reduction Fund.
Grant acts for a range of clients in the public and private sector, including government agencies, property developers, contractors, major subcontractors, service providers, carbon sector participants and not-for-profit entities.
Grant has experience working in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand and prior to joining Hamilton Locke worked at Sparke Helmore, Holding Redlich and Gilbert + Tobin.

- Acting for North Sydney Council on the drafting and negotiation of the construction contract for the redevelopment of North Sydney Olympic Pool, including providing advice during construction.
- Acting for Moreau Kusunoki Genton, the architect for the new Powerhouse Museum at Parramatta, and Genton alone, each in relation to the professional services contract with Infrastructure NSW, and for Genton alone in relation to its project arrangements with Moreau Kusunoki and the novation of the professional services contract to Lendlease.
- Acting for NSW Ports and Sydney Ports Corporation on the drafting and negotiation of the project documents for, and advising in connection with, the proposed Bulk Liquids Berth 2 (BLB2) at Port Botany, including the long-term operational licences with the users of BLB2.
- Acting for John Holland on the negotiation of the maintenance facility design and construct contract for the NSW Rolling Stock public-private partnership (PPP) and on the negotiation of project documents for its bid as part of the Macquarie Bank / UGL / John Holland consortium for the Orange and Associated Health Services PPP.
- Acting for the long-term service provider on respectively the negotiation of the operation and maintenance contracts and related agreements for Sydney’s M7 motorway PPP and the negotiation of the project documents for its bid for the Brisbane Airport Link motorway PPP.
- Acting for Hutchinson Builders on the negotiation of the design and construct contract and other project documents for the student accommodation PPP at the University of Technology, Sydney and on the negotiation of the design and construct contract and other documents for the student accommodation PPP at the University of Wollongong.
- Acting for Lendlease on the drafting and negotiation of contractual arrangements for the provision of sewerage and recycled water services for the Bingara Gorge residential development at Wilton, New South Wales.
- Acting for Altogether on the drafting and negotiation of design, build, operate and maintain agreements for the provision of sewerage and recycled water services to two significant mixed use developments and providing advice about the Water Industry Competition Act 2006 (NSW).
- Acting for Billbergia on the drafting and negotiation of the design and construct contract for the Homebush Bay Bridge between Rhodes and Wentworth Point in Sydney.
- Acting for various participants in carbon sequestration and emissions avoidance projects on contractual matters, including drafting and negotiating project documents, and disputes relating to projects participating in the Emissions Reduction Fund.
