Michael has a passion for complex deals and legal issues and uses his specialised knowledge of the law to help clients successfully meet their business objectives. He is highly responsive, efficient and takes a meticulous approach to his work, enabling him to achieve clients’ desired outcomes.  

Michael brings over 30 years’ experience advising on complex M&A transactions and corporate advisory matters across a number of jurisdictions. He brings a breadth of expertise working in various industries including oil and gas, mining, financial services and transportation. Michael is also known for his work advising the boards of a number of public companies and has led major Australian and cross-border M&A transactions.

Michael is currently undertaking a PhD in law at Monash University and is a member of the Takeovers Panel. 

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Michael worked as a partner at top-tier and international firms Jones Day, Clifford Chance, Cochrane Lishman Carson Luscombe and King & Wood Mallesons. Michael was also the Managing Director and Head of the Perth office of Gresham Partners Limited.
